Job Description

Grohney AAA LLP is seeking an experienced Forensic Accountant to join our Forensic Services team. In this role, you will conduct financial investigations, analyze complex transactions, and provide expert support for litigation and dispute resolution. You will work on fraud investigations, asset tracing, and financial crime prevention engagements across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background combined with investigative skills and experience in forensic accounting or fraud examination.

Responsibilities

- Conduct forensic accounting investigations and fraud examinations
- Analyze financial records to identify irregularities and suspicious transactions
- Trace assets and funds in financial disputes
- Quantify economic damages for litigation support
- Prepare expert reports and witness statements
- Assist in fraud risk assessments and anti-fraud programs
- Interview relevant parties and collect evidence
- Present findings to clients, legal counsel, and regulatory authorities
- Develop forensic accounting methodologies and tools
- Mentor junior team members on forensic techniques

Requirements

- 7+ years of experience in forensic accounting, fraud investigation, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with forensic data analytics and investigation techniques
- Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
- Experience providing expert testimony or litigation support
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation abilities
- Good interviewing and fact-finding skills
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
- Discretion and confidentiality

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA (Kenya) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar forensic certification
- Advanced degree or legal qualification (an advantage)
